Persona

We talked to 15 people about renting tools and created persona for both those who rent out tools and those who borrow them.

Key takeaway:

  1. A chat communication feature is essential for the platform.

  2. The size of the tools and the space they occupy is a crucial attribute that users are concerned about.

  3. Since the identities of lenders and borrowers typically don't overlap, this implies that the platform should cater to a diverse user base.

Information Architecture

Version 1

Pro

1. The home page is divided into two columns: rental and group seeking, and users can view posts in different sections.

Con

1. The function of asking for rent is cumbersome and cannot directly facilitate the transaction.

Version 2

Pro

1. Remove the function of seeking rent and simplify the logical chain.

2. Add tool classification, which is convenient for users to find targets.

Con

1. Map browsing occupies a space in the bottom navigation bar, but its priority should be below the shopping cart.

2. At present, the shopping cart can only be reached from the personal homepage, not directly.

Version 3

Pro

1. The map display is integrated into the tool list, which is convenient for users to view tools in different views.

2. Move the shopping cart to the homepage to simplify the shopping decision path.

Final Output

1.1 Tool List (Scene/Map)

① Classify tools according to application scenarios, so that users can find the tools they need more easily and improve the user experience.

② Map perspective allows users to view nearby tools that can be rented to solve urgent needs.

1.2 Tool Details

① Users can directly add tools to the shopping cart to simplify the purchase path.

② Tool details page, indicating the classification, brand, size, status and other attributes of tools to help users understand the information.

2. Shopping cart

① The bottom navigation bar can directly jump to the shopping cart, where users can view the tool details. Open up purchase channels and promote transformation.

3.Post

① Users can take photos and publish their idle tools, and fill in relevant attributes according to the page prompts, thus simplifying the publishing process.

4. Social

① A chat channel is set up in the ①APP, which helps the lessor and the renter to communicate and negotiate the tools and transaction contents.

② Personal homepage can be used to view wallets, orders, etc.
